Standalone Flyovers & ROBs Across AssamAssam | Roads & Highways

Improving Connectivity Through Grade-Separated Highway Infrastructure

The project involves the construction of standalone flyovers and a Railway Over Bridge (ROB) at key locations across Assam, covering stretches of NH-31, NH-31C, NH-36 and NH-37 under the Bharatmala Pariyojana.

The works were divided into Package 1 and Package 2 and executed on an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) basis. The development includes major grade-separated structures at important junctions to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and enhance road safety along Assam’s National Highway network. Government records identify the project as part of NHAI’s standalone flyover and ROB programme in the state. Digital Sansad

MAV Associates LLP, in association with TPF Engineering Pvt. Ltd., serves as the Authority’s Engineer for supervision of the works. The consultancy agreement was signed with NHAI on 23 December 2022.

Engineering Oversight Across Multiple Highway Junctions

As Authority’s Engineer, MAV Associates LLP’s role involves the supervision and monitoring of construction works across the project packages, ensuring that the structures and associated highway works are executed in accordance with approved designs, applicable standards and contractual requirements.

The consultancy scope includes review of engineering designs and drawings, construction supervision, quality assurance and quality control, progress monitoring, inspection and measurement of works, certification of contractor bills, contract administration, technical compliance monitoring, and supervision of structural and associated highway works.

The two packages cover major junctions across Assam, including Bongaigaon, Chapaguri, Pathsala, Simlaguri Chowk and Baihata, along with Raha, Demow, Borghat, Kathiatali and Jagiroad. Government records identify Package 1 as five standalone flyovers and Package 2 as four standalone flyovers together with an ROB at Jagiroad.

Creating Safer, More Efficient Movement at Critical Junctions

The project is designed to address congestion and improve traffic movement at important intersections along Assam’s National Highway network by introducing grade-separated infrastructure.

The flyovers and ROB allow through traffic to move more efficiently while reducing conflicts at busy junctions and railway crossings. The project therefore contributes to improved mobility, road safety and connectivity across key highway corridors in the state.
